How durable are carbon-fiber torque reaction arms?

Many clients wonder about the strength and durability of our carbon fiber technology. Since releasing this industry-changing technology in 2010, GCI has not experienced any fatigue failures or shortened life cycles when compared with steel systems. With capabilities of up to 20′ of reach, 7500 Nm of torque reaction, and 500 lbs of material handling capacity, these carbon fiber systems are superior to their steel counterparts.

The system pictured below was one of our first carbon fiber systems. A recent inspection showed that the system is still in “like new” condition while being used daily in a production environment.

What Our Clients Say

Our new GCI manipulator arm has been a great addition to our operation. It safely and efficiently handles 8-, 10-, and 12-inch Alpha valves without slowing down production. The installation also allowed us to reorganize the area — creating more room, reducing clutter, and enabling Alpha valve assembly in two separate work cells. This added flexibility really helps when we’re running large orders of 4- and 6-inch Alpha valves.
