The client needed a better ergonomic process to prevent operator injuries while torquing fasteners for a bus axle assembly.
GCI designed a manipulator arm to absorb the torque reaction from the tool to improve operator safety. A tool load balancer further improves ergonomics by allowing the operator to move the machine vertically without having to carry the tool weight. While not in use, a parking brake ensures the arm will remain in place.
