High Vertical Travel Manipulator Arm for Ag Implement Assembly

The client needed an ergonomic fix to aid operators in securely transferring a sub-assembly from the build table to a shipping container. GCI’s solution was based on a comparable system that had proven effective for the client’s primary partner.

GCI updated the design of this stacker-style manipulator arm to help safely lift, rotate, and place the sub-assembly in this process. The stacker tracks combined with an electric hoist allow the manipulator to achieve greater vertical travel and lift capacities. For operator convenience, the hoist control pendant was integrated into the standard GCI controls alongside the part roll and gripper levers.
