Overhead-Mounted Lift Assist Tube for Motor Installation

The client was searching for a safe and ergonomic solution to help aid in the installation of electric motors on a skid steer assembly.

GCI designed a lift cylinder with a custom end effector to grab and lift the electric motors. A powered rotation helps operator manipulate the part into position for the assembly. To ensure the part isn’t dropped during the process, a two-handed safety lever is standard for GCI lift assist solutions. This requires the operator to press both the “No Part” and “Safety” levers at the same time to release the part.
