Lug Probe Roll Handling Manipulator Arm

The client needed a safe and ergonomic method to pick up different rolls oriented vertically and manipulate them to the horizontal position.

GCI designed an industrial manipulator arm with an inner diameter probe and powered pitched tilt. The probe has two different diameter sizes (3″ and 6″) with lugs to grip multiple sizes of rolls strongly. To avoid accidental release of a roll, the operator must press a two-button release mechanism.
