Low-Profile Carbon Fiber Torque Reaction Arm

The client was needing a torque reaction solution to improve the ergonomics and safety of a semi-trailer cab installation process.

GCI engineered a low-profile torque reaction arm with a fixed tool mount. Constructed primarily of carbon fiber, the arm weighs roughly half of a steel version. The lower weight allows for a longer reach and means less mass for the operator to control. When the torque arm is not in use, a parking brake locks up the joints.
