A client needed a safe and ergonomic solution for operators to pick up and position a steel pallet, remove the positioning tool, and unload gears from a paint line to the pallet. The process required a single system that could handle multiple tasks without compromising operator safety or ergonomics.
GCI designed a multi-function pallet handling system capable of addressing all three requirements: handling the pallet itself, securely gripping the gears, and accommodating a positioning tool.
The system included specially engineered pallet pads designed to align with the “X” shape on the steel pallets, allowing operators to easily connect and handle three different pallet sizes with one tool. A second set of gripper pads, built with stops, was incorporated to safely position and transfer both the gears and the positioning tool.
The client received a versatile, ergonomic solution that reduced strain on operators, improved handling safety, and streamlined the transition from paint line to pallet—all in one custom-engineered system.
