Custom-Painted Manipulator Arm for EV Inverter Assembly

The client was looking for an ergonomic solution to help the operator with an installation process for an EV inverter assembly.

GCI engineered a manipulator arm with a custom end effector designed specifically for the client’s part. The intuitive controls empower the operator to grip, lift, and rotate the inverter sub-assembly into the right spot for installation without the strain or discomfort of a manual lift.

The system also included a custom paint job per the client’s specs. With the addition of a new powder-coating paint booth in early 2023, GCI is able to handle both custom and standard colors for all systems in-house.
