The client was looking for an industrial torque reaction solution that was lightweight, adjustable, and safe for the operator during the gearcase assembly process.
GCI designed a carbon fiber torque reaction arm with a tool sleeve mounted on the end. A load-balancing system negates the weight of the tool and arm to make vertical travel simple and safe for the operator. The remote start and BEV circuit lock the arm and droplink in place to react torque as the tool is activated.
The main rotation includes adjustable stops to allow the client to change the range of motion for the arm. By the tool mount, a manual tool extension allows for linear adjustments of the tool position.
