Brake Manipulator With Multiple Part Movements

The client needed a custom handling solution to assist operators with lifting, manipulating, and installing a brake assembly.

GCI developed a specially designed gripping mechanism on a floor-mounted manipulator arm to aid the client’s assembly process. The arm enables various movements for the parts, including a 45-degree tilt driven by a cylinder and a 270-degree rotation powered by an air motor.

The control handles of this lift assist system feature easily identifiable thumb levers for operators. With the handle pivot lever, operators can conveniently adjust the controls throughout the handling process, ensuring optimal positioning for every assembly step.
