Brake Engagement Verification Circuit

The BEV (Brake Engagement Verification) circuit simplifies the torquing process for operators while keeping them safe. This feature is activated by pressing the remote start button once the torque tool is on the fastener. A PLC receives the activate signal and engages the brakes at each critical joint on the torque arm so that it can absorb the reactive forces. Before the tool is activated, the PlC verifies each brake is locked through proximity sensors.

This whole process happens in a fraction of a second. The operator only needs to position the tool and press the remote start button.
