Lift Cylinder Manipulator for Console Pack Out

The client needed a safer and more ergonomic way to lift completed consoles and place them into shipping crates.

GCI designed a lift cylinder manipulator mounted to an overhead bridge crane, giving the operator a wide working area. A custom gripper securely holds the console while it is moved and lowered into the crate. Two adjustable stops control the vertical travel of the lift cylinder.

A balance handle keeps the operator controls at a comfortable height as the console is raised and lowered. A single button activates the grip, while two buttons are required to release the part, helping reduce the chance of an accidental drop.
