Manipulator Arm for Cab Seat Installation

The client needed a safe and ergonomic way to lift and position seats inside heavy-vehicle cabs during installation.

GCI designed a custom seat gripper mounted to the end of an 11 foot manipulator arm. The system supports the weight of the seat while giving the operator the reach and control needed to guide it into the cab.

The end tooling includes manual roll and yaw rotation, allowing the operator to adjust the seat from multiple angles during placement. This added movement helps the operator navigate the seat through the cab opening and position it for installation without physical strain.
