The client had a need to safely move welding air tanks that are too big and heavy to be handled by an operator.
GCI designed a custom end-effector specifically to fit this client’s air tanks. The end-effector was attached to a manipulator arm with 150 lbs capacity and a 10-foot reach. The operator positions the vertical travel with simple pneumatic controls. While not in use, the brake can be applied to restrict the movement of the arm. A parking dock was also included to properly secure the arm while not in use.
