Tire OD Gripper with a Camera

This project was for a current client looking to further improve efficiency for the operator by retooling the manipulator end effector.

GCI updated the design from an offset pitch to a center rotation with a camera. This new configuration gave the operator a better view while shaving weight off of the end effector. The load balancers were converted to variable lift levers to make the machine more flexible on the fly for different tire weights.

These new benefits combined with the two-handed brake disengagement levers helped improve the operator’s overall safety and efficiency.
