The client needed a lift assist solution to install fenders that are too heavy and awkward for operators to handle safely. The lift assist had to be mobile due to the distance between the parts and the installation point.
GCI developed a specialized mobile lift assist cart featuring a custom gripper, 180-degree powered rotation, and dual rails equipped with an air cylinder for vertical motion. A quick connect makes it easy to add air power when needed, and disconnect it when the cart needs to be moved. Although the cart can be moved by an operator, the cart also incorporates pockets for convenient forklift transportation.
