Automation Equipment Material Handler

The client needed a safe and ergonomic method for the operator to repeatedly move automation equipment through the assembly process.

GCI custom-designed an end effector to grab these metal tubes with an OD gripper. Engaging the material parts and safe parking are controlled with intuitive handle switches. A two-handed safety circuit helps prevent the operator from accidentally dropping and damaging the part. Vertical travel is achieved by a load balancer that reacts to the movement of the operator.
