The client needed a safe and ergonomic solution to install a fan subassembly onto the top of their main unit while maintaining control and visibility throughout the process.
GCI engineered a manipulator arm with custom end tooling capable of securely handling three different part sizes, allowing flexibility without changing equipment. A powered tilt feature presents the underside of the part so operators can easily verify model information before placement, improving confidence during installation.
To enhance safety and usability, the system includes a two button release to reduce the risk of accidental drops, along with a quick-adjust control height using a simple t-pin to accommodate operators of varying heights.
