Vacuum Panel Handler for Glass Sheets

Safety was a top priority for this client when considering how to properly hand sheets of glass through their assembly line. Additionally, the material handling solution would need to be intuitive and adjustable to fit the needs of their operators.

GCI engineered a custom rotating vacuum panel handler that is mounted on the end of a manipulator to help move these materials reliably. An adjustable control handle with a safety grip ensures comfortable operation while the operator engages with the tool. The brake automatically engages if the safety grip is released. To further enhance safety, a pressure sensor helps verify when the tool is holding a sheet of glass to ensure proper operation.
